Pablo Heras-Casado, Principal Guest Conductor of the Teatro Real returns to his beginnings to conduct the very beautiful oratorio Elijah, by Felix Mendelssohn, accompanied by the distinguished Freiburger Barockorchester orchestra, a Baroque chamber orchestra acclaimed for its performances based on historical approaches, and the Rias Kammerchor. Inspired by the music of Bach and Händel, the work is scored for four solo voices, orchestra and chorus. The lead part of Elijah is a bass baritone, at the Teatro Real, this role will be sung by prodigious Matthias Goerne.
